Over 1,700 Rancho Cucamonga residents were forced to leave their homes as fire crews worked to contain a huge wildfire that swept through thousands of acres at the foot of San Bernardino Mountains, CNN reported on April 30.
Reports said more than 1,000 acres of grass and other vegetation were burnt in the wildfire. Hundreds of firefighters worked to ensure the total containment of the fire. The fire spread quickly due to strong winds, starting on the same day the National Weather Service issued a warning for the area because of the dangerous weather conditions.
