In Bastrop County’s continuing recovery, homes are being reconstructed with the help of volunteers and the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery team, kvue.com reported on March 18. The agency recently finished its 100th home.
This coming June, the Bastrop County Long Term Recovery agency is expected to finish at least 150 houses with the help of the Christian Aid Ministries Disaster Response Team. On Tuesday, agency President Christine File said 20 houses are currently in the construction process and another five houses are on their way to be built.
At least $1.5 million was given to Bastrop County by the American Red Cross for its rehabilitation project. In 2011, at least 1,704 houses and 34,000 acres of land in Bastrop were ravaged by the wildfire that resulted to two deaths.
Though Bastrop County continues to recover from the devastating wildfire that happened in 2011, the attorneys of Williams Kherkher know that some people whose homes were ravaged by wildfire are still being cheated by their insurance providers, causing financial difficulties.
