As of the evening of Thursday, January 16, 30 percent of the wildfire affecting the San Gabriel Mountains has been contained due to a reduction in the winds fueling the fire, according to a report from the Los Angeles Times.
According to reports, at least 700 fire crews responded to the fire, which has thus far ravaged 1,700 acres of the San Gabriel Mountains, located close to Los Angeles. At least three men believed to be responsible for the wildfire due to building an illegal campfire have been arrested by authorities.
At least five homes have already been destroyed and three persons hurt in the California wildfire.
Unfortunately, residents in Bastrop also suffered the damage and losses of their homes and businesses due to the wildfire that struck them in 2011.
