At least 600 acres of terrain in Ishi Wilderness, Northern California have been affected by an unseasonable wildfire, a report on news10.net stated on Tuesday, January 7.
According to reports, severe dry conditions sparked the Campbell fire, which started on Thursday, January 2. Forest Service Spokesman Jim Mackensen stated that California is in fire season currently, which is unusual during the winter season.
At least 500 firemen have already been deployed to contain the fire in the wilderness area where fire trucks and other fire fighting machine cannot go. Fire personnel have also been put in place to safeguard the homes in a town not far from the fire. Additional fire crews were airlifted to Chico airport to maximize time in battling the fire.
