The coordinator of the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management, Michael C. Fisher, is hoping to gather resources and information to begin work on a Bastrop County wildfire history museum.
Pending approval by the Bastrop County Commissioner’s Court, the proposed museum will include recordings of 911 calls made during the fires, thousands of photographs of the devastation, and maps of the route the fire took.
The museum’s goal is to preserve the memory of the wildfire so future generations can relive the experiences of those who lived through the devastation.
After a wildfire, it can be difficult to properly assess the damages it left behind. If you lost your home or business in the Bastrop County wildfires, contact the wildfire attorneys of Williams Kherkher at 800-369-8460.
