HEB celebrated 25 years of doing business in Bastrop in a big way last Saturday. In addition to rolling back some prices to the levels they were in 1987 for the day, the grocer made a generous donation of $32,000 to commemorate its 25 years in town.
The bulk of the money will be put towards recovering the Lost Pines. The county has found a breed of pine seeds that are consistent with the area’s ecosystem.
They hope to begin repopulating Bastrop’s piney areas as soon as possible.
