The deadline for removing debris left by last year’s extensive wildfires is approaching quickly.
Recovery crews have been working six to seven days a week since May to remove dead trees and other fire debris from area houses. The county divided the affected area into ten zones and has cleared seven of them so far. The final area’s deadline is set for July 13.
The recovery efforts will cost an estimated $25 million, up to 75% of which may be reimbursed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
