On Monday, the the Austin Community Foundation donated more than $830,000 to nonprofits that aim to help Bastrop County’s continued relief efforts after last year’s devastating wildfires. It has donated more than $500,000 in the past.
The foundation donated the money to nine individual organizations, including the Bastrop County Lost Pines Recovery Team, Communities in Schools, and Bastrop Emergency Food Pantry.
Many problems caused by the wildfires were unforeseen and the foundation’s help will make a noticeable impact.
