A family and their cat have now been reunited after a they were separated in the Bastrop County wildfire.
The family lived in Pine Tree Loop when their house burned down in the Labor Day wildfires. The family was separated from all of their cats and eventually all of them returned except for one.
They did not want to give up hope on the beloved cat, but were worried because it had been so long. The family was hoping that she was found by another family and was being taken care of.
The family then posted the cat’s photo on Wildfire Pet Rescue and volunteers went into shelters every weekend and placed the photos of cats that were there. Then, the family received a photo of a cat that looked similar to theirs and it proved to be a match when they were reunited this weekend.
