The most destructive wildfire season in the state’s history has finally come to an end, according to experts, but the threat against fire is not over.
Wildfire season has officially ended on Tuesday, but experts have said that it will still be a dry, warm winter in the state. This season began November 15, 2010 and ran through the year.
The total number of fires across the state was 29,000, which burned more than 3.5 million acres and destroyed over 1200 homes. The fires also took the lives of 10 people. Because the climate was so dry, there are many dead trees and this could be a large fire threat.
