FEMA has made the official decision to close the doors of the Bastrop Disaster Recovery Center on November 18. Individuals who were affected by the wildfires can still receive aid up until December 8.
The closing of the center means that FEMA believes most people have received the information they needed pertaining to the Bastrop wildfires. Approximately 4,200 survivors obtained some sort of help from the center since it’s opening on September 13.
Although the physical structure may be closing, victims of the fire can still receive help by phone or through the internet. Until November 18, the center will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
