Musicians across the state of Texas are rallying together in order to help raise funds for those who lost their homes in the Central Texas wildfires that occurred on Labor Day Weekend.
The benefit concert was held last Monday night in the Frank Erwin Center and multiple musicians and organizations in the Austin area hosted the event. An American guitarist, Eric Johnson, proposed the idea for the event concert called Fire Relief: The Concert for Central Texas.
The concert included performances by Eric Johnson, Criss Cross, Terri Hendrix, Joe Satriani, Lyle Lovett, Willie Nelson, Ray Benson, Randy Rogers Band, Shawn Colvin, Texas Tornados, The Dixie Chicks, Asleep at the Wheel, the Avett Brothers and George Strait. T-shirt and ticket sales for the fundraiser raised about $500,000 to put the Texas Wildfire Relief Fund.
