Since the devastating wildfires swept through Bastrop last month, Texans have shown their neighbors the true meaning of southern hospitality. Recovery centers have been opening up across Central Texas to help residents that lost everything cope with the grief.
Dozens of organizations, from local churches to national agencies like FEMA and the United Way, have helped residents get their lives back on track. Many donation centers are accepting furniture to aid residents who are now able to return to their homes. The money pouring into the relief efforts have helped families buy food and afford hotel rooms. A new group called Adopt a Family has made it easier for individuals looking to help out host families run out by the fires.
